About me

Hi

My name is Onur Comlekci. I'm an artist from Ankara- Turkey. I use technology as my artistic medium and I use techniques like creative coding, AR/VR, AI, machine learning / artificial intelligence, cg animation, motion capture, 3d scanning/3d printing. I also make presentations and workshops about art and technology.I continue my design and new media projects at Nuga Studio that I founded.

Artist Statement

I think that art is a great opportunity for the individual to better understand what is happening around him. Therefore, the development of technology and science that affects our lives in every direction also affects art. During the industrial revolution, the development of optics, chemistry, and mechanics revealed the branches of art such as photography and cinema. Today, many new scientific and technological developments such as artificial intelligence and bio technology affect art in different ways. Maybe they will inspire art movements we haven't heard of. As an artist, it is natural that I try to do something like a color palette with all these developments today because I was born in the middle of the analog and digital age. It is my choice as an self-taught artist to look further or to the past and to use the change of human life in my works with positive and negative aspects. Today, while humanity is driving its own future with technology, I will continue to make my works so that people do not forget their past and universal values during this change.
